Do you feel seen? There's so much noise out in the world. I know sometimes I feel like I'm drowned out by the world, and I don't feel seen. Unless I'm being exceptionally LOUD. I don't believe we should have to be so loud just to be seen. Especially by those that proclaim to care about us.
And yet, every day, right here, we are surrounded by strong, amazing women doing big, bold, amazing things. Do you see them?
Do you see the women in your life? No, I mean, do you SEE them? Do you really?
Here's a thought. A challenge, if you will. Go to the most important women in your life and ask them if they feel seen. Let me tell you. If you are open to their sharing, allow them a space to be vulnerable and real for a moment, THIS will be a powerful conversation.
If you don't feel seen in this noisy world, I want you to. You deserve to be seen. It can scary. Doing the big bold things. Being SEEN. Because when we are seen, we are vulnerable. It opens us up to criticism. Judgement. Comparison.
But do you know what else it opens us up to? Recognition. Companionship. Comraderie. Beauty. Being heard - and our voice making an impact. Love. LOVE. You can't be loved if you cannot be seen.
YOU CANNOT BE LOVED IF YOU CANNOT BE SEEN.
I said the hard thing. There was a weight that just lifted saying that. The hard thing. I'm going to say it again, and I want you to say it with me. Whisper it, say it in your head if need be. Yell it. But say it with me.
I CANNOT BE LOVED IF I CANNOT BE SEEN.
Give yourself a big hug. You've earned it. Now go out into this world. See the women around you doing big and extraordinary things. Do the big and extraordinary things. And allow yourself to be seen. I'll be out there looking for you, too. I want to see you. You deserve that.
